    Awais Saleem received his Ph.D in Communication Theory & Research from the School of Communication in Summer 2017. As a doctoral student at FSU, he taught journalism and mass communication courses as a lead instructor, and served as the coordinator of the Center for South Asian Media Studies. Earlier, he worked as a reporter, producer, and newsroom manager for mainstream print, television, and online platforms for more than 12 years in Pakistan, India, and the U.S. In his spare time, he writes on Pakistani politics and media landscape as a freelancer and tweets  @awaissaleem77.
