Kimberly Amos-Tata
Assistant Director – Academic & Student Services
Kimberly Amos-Tata serves as Assistant Director - Academic and Student Services and has been with the School of Information since 2010. Her career in academic administration began in 1992 working with the School of Music (Center for Music of the Americas) and the Multicultural Student Support Center (now the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement - CARE). She has had the honor of administrating and providing leadership and student support in a variety of departments on campus, including Athletic Academic Support Services (working with the Baseball and Swimming teams), Nursing, Computer Science, the Office of Distance Learning, the Center for Professional Development, and the Oglesby Union.
She has extensive experience working with non-traditional student populations in online programs for over 20 years and has a passion for developing creative opportunities for students who desire to earn advanced graduate degrees. Her expertise is in the area of student support and process mapping and she is a fierce student advocate who has been instrumental and impactful in the improvement of numerous departmental and university-wide processes and systems. She is also a strong advocate for international student education and has had the privilege of working with students from around the globe.
