Minhyung Jo
I have been studying Library and Information studies since 2010. While studying it in Korea, my study was focused on the technical stuff such as Python, R programming, Relational Database Management, Statistics, Data visualization, and so on. With these technical skills, I worked with a couple of information service companies, served as a teaching assistant for data analysis and librarianship academy, served military service at the primary unit supply, and finished my first master’s degree.
After then, I wanted to study Library and Information Studies from a broader perspective, especially study information users that is not a common area in Korea. During my second master’s program at the University of Washington, I worked with various user groups that I have never worked with such as immigrants from Latin America, online gamers, and kids. I enjoyed these wonderful experiences, and I found that the information world is much huger than I thought. It made me pursue a doctoral program, and now, I am here to fulfill my intellectual craving.
