Jonathan's area of expertise is emerging technologies. His background included 15 years as an interactive software developer with Pilot Media, and 9 years as the owner of a music business. He holds a Doctoral degree in Educational Technologies and a Master's degree in instructional systems, and a bachelor's degree in Music.
Currently he directs the Machine Learning Lab at Florida State University. His research is focused on computer vision, with expertise in object classification systems. His current area of research are the techniques, generation pipelines, and use cases of synthetic imagery as an approach in the training of computer vision systems. The MLAB is comprised of an interdisciplinary group of students, focused on developing techniques to create synthetic images, and keeping process explainable.
Dr. Adams is full professor teaching Emerging Technologies and Information Technology in the School of Information. He serves on doctoral committees and advises students from the FSU Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies program that focus on educational techniques and approaches.
