Vivian Wilson
Adjunct Professor
Vivian is an Adjunct Professor at Florida State University's School of Information where she teaches courses related to technical communication, usability, accessibility, document design, and effective AI collaboration. She has had the privilege of teaching in FSU's undergraduate IT program throughout her doctoral studies and was delighted to return as an adjunct instructor after earning her PhD in 2023.
Outside of academia, Vivian works primarily as a full-time User Experience Researcher for a UX consulting firm based in Seattle, WA where she has led research for clients including Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, and Alphabet. Her latest research projects have involved performing competitive analysis of commercial AI tools to inform novel product development.
Vivian enjoys drawing from her industry experience at leading tech companies to enrich her teaching, infusing lectures with the latest AI developments and career trends. Rather than shying away from AI's presence in the classroom, she embraces it as an opportunity to educate her students on effective and ethical AI usage, preparing them to harness its potential in their future careers.
