FSU College of Communication and Information Logo

    Biography

Shuvo is a Ph.D. student in the FSU School of Communication. His research focuses on environmental communication, climate crisis, and risk perception.

He is interested in how communication shapes individuals’ and communities’ understanding of environmental and scientific information, particularly their risk perceptions, trust, responses to uncertainty, preparedness, and decision-making related to climate and environmental challenges. Shuvo uses mixed-methods approaches to study communication processes across environmental and risk contexts. At FSU, he also teaches undergraduate communication courses.

Before pursuing graduate studies in the United States, Shuvo gained over a decade of professional experience in Bangladesh’s nonprofit, development, policy, and strategic communication sectors. He served as advocacy lead for CARE Bangladesh’s country program and country communication consultant for Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. He also held communication and advocacy roles with the Centre for Policy Dialogue and BRAC University, working across climate change, sustainable development, public health, and social policy.
