Brandon Shenk is a filmmaker, writer, and educator whose teaching focuses on helping students develop the creative, technical, and collaborative skills needed to bring stories from concept to screen. He earned his MFA in Film Production and Screenwriting from Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts and his bachelor’s in English and Mass Communications from the University of Florida, graduating summa cum laude.

Brandon has taught screenwriting, production, editing, post-production, visual storytelling, and film appreciation in classroom, studio, workshop, and remote environments. His teaching emphasizes hands-on learning, at times guiding students through the entire filmmaking process while encouraging collaboration, critical thinking, constructive feedback, and creative risk-taking.

Alongside teaching, Brandon remains an active filmmaker with a particular interest in horror and stories that challenge audiences to engage with complex questions and moral dilemmas. His short films have screened at festivals including the Beverly Hills Film Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival, Hill Country Film Festival, TERMINUS Conference Festival, International Changing Perspectives Short Film Festival, Miami Independent Film Festival, and Flamingo Film Festival, among others.

Through both teaching and filmmaking, Brandon is committed to helping students develop their own voices, take creative risks, and become thoughtful, collaborative storytellers.
