Paul Dam
Director of Live Production & Instruction
Paul Dam is the Director of Live Production and Instruction at the College of Communication & Information. He is a specialized instructor with experience teaching Multi-Camera Studio Production, Video Workshop courses, and mentoring students. Paul is leading the launch of FSU's new, live-production-service program. FSU Live will provide broadcast-quality coverage of fine arts, academic events, and corporate live streams while giving students the opportunity to learn the live production process hands-on.
Paul is an award-winning director and production manager with experienced leadership in public media and major broadcast environments. He has an advanced technical mastery of professional broadcast systems including production switchers, audio and video engineering, studio, ENG, and PTZ camera systems, computer graphics systems, outside broadcast trucks, mobile/remote production, and entertainment delivery to in-venue screens and international broadcast. He is a Technical Director and Live Event Director and has directed countless broadcasts of national news, music performances, and sporting events for national and international networks. He has awards for volunteer service, news videography, news editing, and his managed projects have received multiple Florida News Awards, Public Media Awards, and Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards.
